چکیده

IFN: interferon ISR: injection site reaction MS: multiple sclerosis INTRODUCTION Morphea, also known as localized scleroderma, is an uncommon fibrosing condition of the skin and underlying tissue. Although the etiology is unknown, morphea is considered an autoimmune condition in which genetic and environmental factors contribute to disease onset. Although most cases are spontaneous, several inciting factors are associated with morphea, including trauma, surgery, radiotherapy, and infections. Morphea has also apparently been triggered by injections such as vaccination, vitamin B12, and vitamin K. However, morphea after interferon-b1b (IFN-b1b) injection is rarely reported. Injection site reactions (ISR) to IFNb1b range from mild erythema to ulceration, and a case of deep morphea after IFN-b1b injection is described here.

Injectable interferon beta-1b for the treatment of relapsing forms of multiple sclerosis

Multiple sclerosis (MS) is chronic inflammatory and demyelinating disease with either a progressive (10%-15%) or relapsing-remitting (85%-90%) course. The pathological hallmarks of MS are lesions of both white and grey matter in the central nervous system. The onset of the disease is usually around 30 years of age. The patients experience an acute focal neurologic dysfunction which is not chara...

Treatment With Lopinavir/Ritonavir or Interferon-β1b Improves Outcome of MERS-CoV Infection in a Nonhuman Primate Model of Common Marmoset.

Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus (MERS-CoV) causes severe disease in human with an overall case-fatality rate of >35%. Effective antivirals are crucial for improving the clinical outcome of MERS. Although a number of repurposed drugs, convalescent-phase plasma, antiviral peptides, and neutralizing antibodies exhibit anti-MERS-CoV activity in vitro, most are not readily available or ...
